We’re excited to announce the completion of a new project with WOLFFKRAN, one of the world’s top tower crane manufacturers. Through our Energy for All scheme, WOLFFKRAN's rental facility in the UK is now powered by 70.8 kW of clean energy. With WOLFFKRAN’s commitment to sustainability, this project is a perfect example of how companies in the construction industry can lead the way toward a greener future while enjoying long-term savings through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
Behind the Scenes
This project was made possible through the collaboration of our team, the skilled installers at Voltaire, and the staff at WOLFFKRAN, who ensured the project ran smoothly with no disruptions to the site’s operations. The entire installation was completed in just two weeks, during which we equipped WOLFFKRAN’s facility with 120 high-efficiency 590W solar panels. To optimise performance, we included a SolaX inverter, renowned for its efficiency and reliability in managing energy output.
A Bright Future for WOLFFKRAN
By switching to solar, WOLFFKRAN is reducing its carbon footprint and enhancing its sustainability credentials in an industry where every step toward greener practices counts. The newly installed system will generate savings of over £20,000 per year. That’s money they can reinvest into their business and employees, helping them maintain their position as a leader within the construction industry. This solar installation will help power their facility with clean, renewable energy, reducing their dependence on the national grid and protecting them against rising electricity prices.
Niall Conroy, WOLFFKRAN Sustainability Program Manager, commented:
"I'm very excited about the impact our new solar system will have on our sustainability goals. It’s projected to cover around 19% of our top yard’s electricity needs, peaking at up to 36% in July, which translates to an annual savings of approximately £20,000 and a reduction of 19 tons of CO2 emissions. By generating our own power, we’re decreasing our reliance on grid electricity, which includes carbon-emitting sources like gas and biomass, and moving closer to a sustainable future."
Our Energy for All Scheme
